The Laws of Simplicity, by John Maeda, is a book about the importance of simplicity in design. Simplicity is interpreted through different layers, in this book it is defined through 10 laws and 3 keys. Based on the same principles, the book was redesigned with the original text and imagery.

The book stresses simplicity and to expand on that idea more, focusing on a similar hangline creating areas of both filled and white space. Highlighting the 10 laws, allowance for easy navigation was important, at the start of each law they have their own spread.

This project reinforced the benefit of grid and heirarchy systems in book design.
